Cayla King, Olivia Summiel to host basketball clinic on September 10 at Christiansburg (VA) Recreation Center

Virginia Tech women’s basketball stars to work with aspiring young athletes, courtesy of real estate agents, Mike Eggleston, Pamela White Wolsey, and Bill Aden, along with Mike Creamer, Advisor with D.A. Davidson

[Blacksburg, VA, September 8, 2023] Virginia Tech women’s basketball stars Cayla King and Olivia Summiel along with several teammates, will host a basketball clinic on September 10 from 1:00 - 6:00pm. The "Swish with the Stars" clinic is made possible by the generous support of Coldwell Banker Townside REALTORS® Mike Eggleston, Pamela White Wolsey, Bill Aden, along with Mike Creamer, Advisor with D.A. Davidson, and the Christiansburg (VA) Recreation Center. Participants can expect a fantastic lineup of activities, including skills and drills, 5-on-5 games, a Q&A session with the players, and a special photo session. Space in the event is fully-booked.

Last season, King made 80 three-point shots, the fifth-best season total in program history, helping the Hokies to a first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance. King scored 10 or more points in 12 games and made five or more threes five times. A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, King is enrolled in human nutrition, foods and exercise at Virginia Tech.

Summiel joins the Hokies this year, following four seasons with Wake Forest - the last two as a starting forward. The native of Dayville, Conn. posted career highs in points (7.4) and blocks (1.4) in 29 minutes per game last season.
